Corto Montese I never imagined this could work. Even more so, it never came to my mind that someone might try it at all – but Lycopolis proved me wrong with this incredible chimera of arabic scales and raw second wave black metal. Given the serious punishment for blasphemy in their homeland this is far beyond the often ridiculous masquerade of nowadays black metal. To the contrary, Lycopolis even might demonstrate what black metal could be about. (check out »Amduat Part II – The Hall of Maat« as well!) Favorite track: Hour 6: The Depths.

𝖙𝖜𝖎𝖘𝖙𝖊𝖉𝖘𝖔𝖓𝖔𝖋𝖜𝖆𝖙𝖘𝖔𝖓 I love this album because it is authentic, honest, raw and passionate. This is black metal that I can immerse myself in. Riveting listen from beginning to end. A similar delivery to some of the raw black metal coming out of primarily Indonesia but other South Asian countries, and I prefer it to much of the over produced black metal that comes out of Europe and other Western countries. All hail Lycopolis. Keep riffing, stay metal! Favorite track: Hour 3: Bring Forth Offerings.
